How do you promote a Roblox game for free?
In 2026, organic social media is the number one way companies market, and Roblox games are no different. Players find new games in their TikTok and Shorts feeds, from people they already watch, long before they search for anything. The good news is you can start on that for free.
Post short clips of it yourself, give people a place to gather, and share it where Roblox players already hang out. None of that costs Robux or ad money. It costs time, and it works best in this order:
- Record footage of every good session, so you always have something to post.
- Post short clips on your own TikTok and YouTube Shorts.
- Open a Discord and put the link everywhere the clips go.
- Share in communities like Reddit, where players talk about Roblox games.
This won't fill a server on its own, but it does two useful things. It brings your first players, and it shows you which moments people actually stop for. Both matter later, when you put money behind it. The bigger plan, from before release to after launch, is in how to market a Roblox game.
What should you post on TikTok and Shorts?
One moment per clip, cropped to vertical, with the best bit first. Don't open on your logo or a menu. Open on the close finish, the rare drop or the funny fail, and add captions so it works with the sound off.
Post often, and try different moments rather than reposting the same one. The full version, with hooks and angles, is in how to promote a Roblox game on TikTok.
This is the same thing a BloxClips campaign does, just at a very different size. You post one clip at a time from one account. On a campaign, thousands of creators post their own cuts in the same week, and our team works out which moments land so nobody is guessing.
How do you promote a Roblox game on Discord?
Use it as the place viewers go when they like the clip but aren't ready to play yet. That matters most before release, when there's nothing to play. Kill Streak ran half of its BloxClips campaign before release and gained 5,000 new Discord members within a few days, so launch day started with people already waiting.
Keep the server simple: an announcements channel, a clips channel and somewhere to chat. Post every new clip there first, and ask members to share the ones they like.
Roblox has a free tool that does a similar job on the platform itself. Its Experience Events let you schedule a time-based event, and players who tap Notify Me get a message in their Roblox inbox when it starts. Pair an event with a fresh clip and you give people a reason to show up on a set day.
Can you promote a Roblox game on Reddit?
Yes, if what you post is something a player would want to see anyway. A funny clip or a build people can react to does fine. A bare "play my game" post usually gets ignored. Read each community's rules first, because some don't allow self-promotion at all.
Where do you get footage for free?
From your own sessions. Record raw gameplay every time you or your testers play, and save anything that made someone laugh or shout. Most of it won't be usable. The few seconds that are become your clips. The best video editing software for Roblox covers cutting them.
If you have no footage and no time to make it, that's the one gap you can't fill for free. BloxClips can, because a campaign is hands-off for you: we handle everything, including sending creators into your game to film the moments that matter. That library then feeds every clip after.
Where does free promotion stop working?
At the edge of your own account. Everything above reaches the people who already follow you, plus whoever the feed decides to show that week. That's one audience.
Players rarely try a game after one video. They try it after the third or fourth, from a different creator, a few days apart. By then it looks like everyone is playing it, and that hype is what makes someone think it must be good. One account can't be four different creators, however often it posts. And the hours you spend editing are hours you aren't building the game.
So the free work pays off as a testing round. You find out which moments land, and then you need many voices posting them at the same time. How Roblox decides what to show its own players is a separate question, covered in how Roblox discovery works.
How do you scale free promotion?
Hand your best moments to a creator network. With a BloxClips campaign, many creators cut your footage in their own styles and post it on their own TikTok, YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels accounts in the same few days.
| Compared | Free, on your own | BloxClips campaign |
|---|---|---|
| Who posts | You | Many creators at once |
| Audiences | Your followers | Each creator's followers |
| Footage | What you record | Yours, or filmed for you |
| Cost | Your time | A budget you set |
| You pay for | Nothing | Approved views only |
Our creators' accounts are already warmed up and followed by Roblox players, so clips get picked up fast, which a new account of your own can't match. You set the budget before the campaign starts and pay per approved view. Every clip is checked by hand by a team whose only job is reviewing clips, and invalid or suspicious views are filtered out. The clips stay up on creators' accounts afterwards and keep getting views.
Kill Streak shows how big the jump is. With BloxClips, 3,000+ creators posted 11,153 clips in its first 10 days, and those clips passed 10M views. The Kill Streak case study has the details, and how Roblox clipping campaigns work explains each step.

Keep doing the free moves. When you want more than one account can reach, BloxClips tests formats until it finds the one that works for your game, puts it in front of the players most likely to try it, and runs the campaign for you. You tell us the goal and we handle the rest. Book a call.
