Are Roblox Ads worth it?
They can bring plays, but the same budget does more as a clipping campaign, whether your game is brand new or already has players. Roblox Ads only reach people who are already scrolling Roblox. Clipping puts your game in front of people on TikTok, YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels, from many creators at once, and the clips stay up after the campaign ends.
Kill Streak is what that looks like at launch. In its first 10 days, 3,000+ creators posted 11,153 clips, and those clips passed 10M views. A sponsored tile on Roblox can't reach any of those viewers.
What ads does Roblox sell?
Two kinds. The main one is run through Roblox Ads Manager: your game gets a sponsored tile, using its thumbnail, that Roblox shows on the Home page and in search results.
The other kind runs inside other people's games. Roblox's advertising page lists rewarded videos (players watch a short ad for an in-game reward), billboards with an image or video, and portals that teleport players straight into the advertised game.
How do you pay for Roblox Ads?
You set a daily or a lifetime budget and Roblox sets the bid for you. You pay with a card or with ad credits, and you can turn Robux into ad credit, though Roblox says that conversion is permanent. Ads Manager then reports impressions, clicks, plays, playtime and the average cost per play.
Roblox doesn't publish a price list, so you won't know what a play costs until you've spent. With BloxClips you set the budget and we agree a CPM with you before launch, so you know the rate up front. You pay it on approved views only.
Why is clipping better for a new game?
Because nobody is searching Roblox for a game they've never heard of. A new game has to be seen first, and short-form feeds are where a lot of Roblox players watch Roblox.
- Launch week. A release date needs a lot of people seeing the game in the same few days. That's how Kill Streak got 10M+ views in 10 days.
- Before release. Kill Streak ran half of its campaign before the game came out and gained 5,000 new Discord members within a few days.
- No footage yet. BloxClips handles everything, including sending creators in to film the game, so a campaign can start before you have a trailer.
Why is clipping better for a game that already has players?
Because a sponsored tile only shows to people already on Roblox, and a big game is already in front of a lot of them. Clipping finds viewers somewhere new. Fish It was already one of Roblox's biggest games, with 4.5B+ Roblox visits, and it still ran a clipping campaign: 1,000+ creator clips that took it to millions of viewers and new players.
- The content lasts. Clips stay up on creators' accounts and keep getting views after the campaign. A sponsored tile disappears when the budget runs out.
- Lots of angles. One thumbnail gets one shot. A clipping campaign gets the same footage cut hundreds or thousands of ways, and the feed finds the ones that work.
- Updates get their own wave. Every update is new footage, and new footage is a new campaign.
- You only pay for what counts. Approved views on approved clips. A team whose only job is reviewing clips filters out invalid or suspicious views before they reach your bill.
How do Roblox Ads and clipping compare?

| You pay for | Plays, at a bid Roblox sets | Approved views |
| Creative | Your thumbnail or video | Hundreds or thousands of creator cuts |
| After spend stops | The ads stop | The clips stay up |
| New games | Few people search for them | Built for launches |
| Big games | The same Roblox audience | New viewers outside Roblox |

How do you know clipping brought players?
Watch your game's visits and concurrent players on Roblox around the push, next to your BloxClips dashboard, which shows every video's views over time, likes, comments and spend per day. Before release, watch your Discord: Kill Streak gained 5,000 new members within a few days of its pre-release clips going out. Ads Manager counts plays for you.
Should you run Roblox Ads at all?
Put the budget into clipping first. If you still want Roblox Ads, switch them on after the clips are out, so the sponsored tile reaches people who've already seen your game in their feed. People rarely try a game after one video. They try it after the third or fourth, from different creators, a few days apart, because by then it looks like everyone is playing it.
